  • TVL (theVade List) title must be chosen 1 month (30 days) in advance to screening (both release date, and date viewed).
  • Film cannot be changed post viewing, even if the film is bad
    • Exception in final bullet point.
  • There cannot be more than one film that receives the TVL title.
    • If there are two or more, then the film with the later release date is the one chosen.
  • Film must be released in the same year, and must be viewed in that year
    • Exception to anything previous of 2013.
  • Film must exceed a runtime of 1 hour (60 minutes).
  • If there is no film chosen during that year, then the year will be exempted from the list.
  • Films publicly viewed (at festivals) before the release year, are prohibited.
  • Film must be seen in theaters
    • Exception to anything previous of 2013.
  • Film must be viewed completely.
  • Film may be chosen before the release year.
  • If another film arises 30 days after the screening of the previous film, and nothing official (i.e. poster or trailer) has been released before that date, then the film may take over the TVL title if it meets all previous guidelines.
    • Note: the film with the later release date is the one chosen if multiple movies contest. Thus, the previous film will be exempted from the TVL title
